Are you holding your wedding in July or January? Do you go with traditional roses or buck tradition? The decisions really begin to pile up when planning a wedding. Whether you’re the bride, or just the event planner, this advice will point you towards an amazing wedding.

Remember to consider how you would like the alcohol at your reception served, and how much it will cost. If you have an open bar that is available for long intervals of time, the bill can run up really hard really fast. Check with your venue to find out the alcohol options they have for you to choose from.

Wedding gowns can be pricey. If you are not looking for a traditional, princess type ballgown, consider looking into other types of dresses. A bridesmaid dress might strike your fancy as an option, and it would be cheaper than a dress designated for the bride. The money you save by choosing a cheaper dress can be used to alter it and add some stylish details.

Have your wedding on the property of friends or family. If someone you know has a large yard or farm, you can get rid of a big wedding expense. Make sure you offer to hire help to prepare and to clean, though. Do not leave this up to the homeowner.

The most important thing when considering marriage is the person you will be marrying. You should never rush into a marriage just because others are pushing your or because you are caught up in wedding planning. Weigh everything you know about your loved one, and think about everything involved with living with this person forever.

Don’t leave your guests waiting while you, your new spouse and the wedding party have an hour long photo shoot. These photos should be taken in advance. You can also take your pictures with your respective parents in advance of the wedding. This will leave you more time to spend with your guests.

Check to make sure that you can alter the lighting of the venue where the wedding reception will take place. You will probably want to lower the lights for your first dance, but have brighter lights during most of the reception. Inquire about details, such as lighting, before you decide on a reception venue.

Place your colorful wedding cake on a swatch of fabric that coordinates with the cake. You can opt for patterns, solids or heavily textured fabrics, such as silk, satin or velvet, to add visual interest and tie all elements together.

Getting a relative or friend ordained online can give him authority to officiate the wedding ceremony. This saves you money, and makes your wedding feel more personal. Before finalizing your plans though, check local regulations to make sure that this will be legitimate in your area.

Craigslist is a good outlet for locating local talent for your wedding. Meet up with them in person, do an interview, and discuss your needs and wishes before you pay anything.

If the guests are going to enjoy a meal consisting of multiple courses, make sure they are entertained by keeping little candies in a dish at the table in between the serving times of the courses. Try sugar roses which subtly match your decor, or thin crackers that whet the appetite.

If you are including a wedding speech, make sure you write it out and practice before the wedding. Without taking the time to plan and prepare, you may lose the attention of your audience, say something awkward, or deliver the speech poorly, prompting confused looks, and probably some embarrassment on your part.

After reading these tips, it’s safe to say that you probably weren’t aware of even half of these ideas. And that’s because no one ever realizes just how much goes into planning a wedding until they’re actually staring at it in the face. A wedding is perhaps the most detail-oriented celebration out there, so be sure that you’re using these tips to help you out.
